A hint of green apple, this vodka has a peppery, sweet grain character and an exceptionally clean and smooth finish. It has no burn.
Bootlegger 21 New York Vodka, which is named after the amendment that repealed Prohibition, is a testament to the youthful and rebellious spirit that reigned during the Roaring Twenties. Working inside their distillery in upstate New York, Brian Facquet and John Walsh, the master distillers at Prohibition Distillery, pay tribute to the bygone era with each bottle of Bootlegger 21. The label of each bottle is styled to look like a prescription label, since alcohol was legally available during Prohibition only with a doctor’s prescription, while the back of the bottle is etched with the image of a poppy flower, a symbol of remembrance seen after the Great War.
Made from 100% American corn, Bootlegger 21 Vodka is gluten-free and distilled six times before being charcoal-filtered and bottled by hand. With a hint of green apple and an uncharacteristically smooth finish (this vodka has no burn!), Bootlegger 21 earned the Gold Medal at the 2010 New York International Spirits Competition.
Bootlegger Vodka began as a dream to make a craft spirit sourced from local ingredients, which would be a celebration of the American spirit during Prohibition. This spirit, which pulled us out of a depression, saw the birth of the cocktail, the backroom speakeasy, and bootleggers of notorious fame, lives on today in Bootlegger 21 New York Vodka.
