About Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka

The Smirnoff brand began with a vodka distillery founded in Moscow by Pyotr Arsenievich Smirnov in 1864. The key difference that made Smirnoff vodka stand out from their competition has always been the traditional charcoal filtration method developed by P.A. Smirnoff: originally, their vodka had to be filtered no less than 5 times to reach exceptional smoothness. Now owned by Diageo and sold in over 100 countries, Smirnoff is one of the most renowned vodkas in the world.

Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka is their flagship vodka. First created in the late 19th century, it was named "Table Wine No. 21" and enjoyed by Russian peasants and Czars alike. Triple distilled and filtered 10 times, it has a robust flavor with a dry finish for ultimate smoothness and clarity, winning it several awards throughout the years, more recently a Double Gold Medal at the 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Traditionally, it can be enjoyed neat or added to any favorite mixed drink. It's, however, most notably used to mix the classic Moscow Mule—one of the most successful products of post-WW2 Spirit marketing Smirnoff pulled off to get themselves back on top after the turmoil Russia's experienced at the beginning of the 20th century. Smirnoff No. 21 is also Kosher Certified and gluten-free.

About Vodka

Historians are not clear on the exact origin of vodka since different sources link its beginning to both Russia and Poland. But one thing is clear: this somewhat simple spirit, first used as a medicinal concoction, has become one of the most versatile drinks in the world.

It can be distilled from any type of grains, potatoes, or even grapes worldwide. Due to its simplicity, this unaged spirit's main flavor factor is the quality of water and the ingredients used in the distillation process.

Primarily used in cocktails, vodka can also stand its ground when enjoyed neat.
