Madre is an amazing mezcal. The Ensamble has floral notes - so when people say "I don't like mezcal, it's too smokey," I tell them to try Madre. It is a perfect balance between smokey and flavorful. Awesome to drink straight with an orange peel on the glass or mix in with a margarita. Highly recommend. Bottle and brand are amazing too!

Rosaluna Mezcal Joven

The Less Smoky Mezcal!

Rosaluna is a citrus forward, sweeter, and less smoky mezcal. Because it is lighter and brighter than most mezcal brands, it pairs perfectly well in citrus forward shaken cocktails: Margarita, Paloma, and even Espresso Martinis. Amazing quality mezcal for such a great value. I personally just love Rosaluna neat, on the rocks, or straight up in a shaken martini with an orange twist.

Montelobos Espadín Mezcal

I don't drink often, so when I do, I want something that's a real pleasure. Since I like smoky scotches, I took note when I ran across this mezcal on a recent trip to Mexico. Upon returning to the states, I ordered a bottle, and I haven't been disappointed! The folks I've shared it with have been likewise impressed. It's smooth, with a more subdued smoky flavor than the Islay-style scotches I've tried, and is just wonderful.

Highly recommended!

I had an issue with the espadin so decided to try the blend. All the bottles are sour and don’t resemble true mezcal flavor +the migraine headache. Tasted like they put liquid smoke or some artificial flavor. Shouldn’t there be a testing qualification for mezcal to protect the consumer

Holy not-smokey mezcal, Batman! This one is clean and fresh, I guess you could say; but not at all complex and without a hint of smoke. Wanted to like it but not impressed. So many other great mezcals on the market that no one needs to settle for just good.

I really loved this bottle of mezcal. It’s surprising that it’s even mezcal because although present, the smokiness isn’t very strong. Rather this is a very smooth drink. I’ll be adding this to my steady rotation.

Award-winning for good reason

Espadin, Tobala and Madrecuishe combine really nicely in this Ensamble, with the madrecuishe giving that savory herb and woody note you get from some of them. The clay distillation definitely brings some earthiness, but not overpowering. I love sipping this mezcal as I find something new each time I go back to it. A special occasion mezcal.

Wow. If you think Espadin isn't for you, try this. This is an Espadin for sipping or using in good quality cocktails. Roasted agave, creme brulee and mesquite smoke on the nose. The taste is balanced and complex, with savory herbs (rosemary?), smoked meatiness and minerality & a long, rewarding finish.

Truly unique & complex

This Tobala is distilled in copper and clay pot giving it a really unique nose and flavor profile. I find the nose to have a perfumed floral aspect with tropical fruits with a hint of leather and earth. The taste is rounded and has a hint of earthiness and mineral aspects. Delightful

Clearly I love this range of mezcal, the Ensamble brought me something very different on flavor profile. Vegetal notes, with earthy tones, just explodes in ones mouth, woulf be great with food.

I love Tobala mezcal and this is one of the best. A great mouthfeel, long lingering smoke. I also get great earthy tones and 'minerality' from the copper/clay distillation.

I'm not a huge drinker so when I do drink I like it to be something I'm really going to enjoy. Rosaluna has quickly become one of if not my favorite drinks. Best of all the price is amazing for this Mezcal. Highly recommended.

The Only Alcohol I Drink

I was first introduced to Rosaluna by an old friend of mine. In the past I was pretty much just a rum drinker but boy did she change that. We got together one day and she had it at her house and it was the only thing she had. So I tried it and it just caught me off guard off guard. Ever since then Rosaluna is pretty much the only alcohol I drink. I now always have a couple bottles stashed away. That's actually what I'm doing here. Time to stock up and you guys are the best. I've never had any type of issue with you guys. Thank You so much. I really appreciate you.

ABV had a sticker on bottle that was a higher 44.5%! :( I’m sure it’s a quality mezcal, but I was expecting smoky and a long finish—neither. White dog heat, some interesting retro nasal and an abrupt finish. Lot# D418. Bottle 193/360

Easy start into the world of Mezcal

I made this purchase just to experiment something new.
If you enjoy peaty scotch, and want to enjoy some different type of spirit, Mezcal is what you should do.
Montelobos is smooth, smoky but not repulsive, with grapefruit juice and tonic water, highly recommended summer drink.

Just damnit...I had *such* high hopes

Okay, so *legit* my favorite tequila on the planet is Clase Azul Reposado.

The combo of delish caramel flavor + smoothness + that bottle looks so damn cool, is all on point. My friend threatened me to a blind tequila challenge & as predicted...my Clase won big ;P.

Now there's this *nonsense* of the mezcal. Lemme be clear: I *love* mezcal (and also sotol). Smoky + herbaceous + magic. But this was some got damn ridiculous *nothing* special idiocy.

I splurged because lockdown. I'm usually a $200 max on a bottle type of chick. Just on principal. But you know...2020, whatcha gonna do.

Let me be clear: this mezcal was *fine*...which is very much NOT what I'm looking for in a $370+ bottle. LITERALLY could've kept the bottle & subbed out for Kirkland Mezcal and *no one* would have noticed a difference.

BUT...you can't...because the bottle itself is shockingly awful.

Okay, to be fair, the cap is *lovely*, and beaded and quite nice. But the bottle is this bizarre (and VERY porous) black like chalk board consistency, but rougher, and worse, and hurts your hand to hold it & scratches *easily*.

I threw it out.

Ya.

In the *trash*.

Did not even turn into a vase. (Did keep the cap & it's now on my current Reposado bottle...so there's that).

It is *beyond* rare for me to leave a bad review. I would've *happily* become a lifelong customer.

But it rankled me so badly that I had ignored the other reviews on google & went ahead with the purchase, that I thought I'd spare you the pain. If you're reading this far...I hope I did.

On that now...just bought 2 more bottles of the Clase Azul Reposado, so...at least there's that ;P. I do still love the company overall, because...complete win on the tequila.

Now, I just need to find the *actual* equivalent mezcal. Sadly....this is *not* that.

Celebrity endorsed booze is all the rage these days but making mezcal is significantly more tedious than like, making Aviation gin because you have mexican grandpa out with 5 of his friends hacking away at these hundred pound agaves with machetes. This mezcal is alright but at $61 for an espadin, i'm totally fine paying that price as long as its properly going back to the people that make it
