Buttery, soft & smoky

Drinks like somewhere between an Irish and a Scotch. A 92 proof backbone with some fruit forward notes, complimented by buttered popcorn, gingerbread and a hint of sweet soft smoke. Definitely not your average Irish whiskey. Lots to discover in this line.

A Nice Sip After a Long Day

Well, I would say this is a very nice whiskey, one to stock in your bar. I was not familiar with this one so picked up a bottle, and I am very happy! I think the Sherry cask finish really rounds this one out and makes it a comfortable, cozy sip on a cold winter night. It may be a TAD overpriced compared to others that are just as tasty for less, but you should be happy if you purchase a bottle.

Awesome flavor…then BOOM!!

This whiskey is amazing on the front end. Light, caramel, smooth. Yummy. Just smelling it is great…but on the back end you will get a SERIOUS burn. 124 PROOF kicks in. Not super good for sipping (‘les you love the burn). But I still enjoy this whiskey a lot.

Smoother than expected

After some research prior to ordering, we were pleasantly surprised by the smooth finish to this beverage.
It has a powerful presence to the nose up front and in the initial taste, but the finish is quite nice and if you're not careful can provide a false sense of security if you get too comfortable with it. It does not take much to pack a punch.
The flavor does not come off as Whiskey, Vodka or Tequila, it seems to stand on it's own as a spirit, or a combination of the aforementioned three.

Will definitely purchase again. If we can locate it in stock.

He had recently had sampled Louis Xlll cognac and compared the complexities of both as being very similar. I have to agree a poor man’s Louis Xlll cognac at 1/10 the price.

I have no clue as to the taste of any Irish whiskey other than as an Irish coffee ingredient. Primarily, I use Jameson to clean and sweeten my smoking pipes. It is particularly appropriate when cleaning my Petersons. It is also just fine in Irish coffee.

Redbreast 27 Year Old Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey

Not sure. Smell and opening tastes very nice and smooth. Confused about the finish though, as it had an overpowering taste of must or mildew on the back end. Not sure if this is a bad bottle or not. Due to the overwhelming positive reviews I may order another bottle and give it one more try. Wonder if anyone else has had this experience. Definitely a disappointment though. I did report it to Caskers. My bottle came in fully sealed. Maybe it was just a bad batch?

Green Spot is tied with Redbreast 12 for being my favorite Irish Whisky around the $50-60 mark. To me the nose is heavy with green apple, cloves, even some light banana bread or coconut. All of these carry over in the taste, which is incredibly smooth and like Redbreast is a wonderful mix of the typical Irish biscuit notes and a heavy portion of fruit, like the nose Green Spot reminds me of green apples and light tropical fruits. This is one of my go-to's and one I frequently recommend to Irish lovers.

Flavors of the malted grain, a little oak sweetness, and very smooth in the mouth. The vanilla notes come to the front when a few drops of water are added to the shot. Excellent Irish for the price.

This is a sourced blend, bottled by a distillery that is building their own whiskey still with plans to begin making their own spirit in late 2021. If you expect a "traditional" Irish (such as Jameson or Red Breast), or if you expect a "peated irish" like Connemara, you'll be surprised - pleasantly so, I hope. The peat notes are gentle and herbal, especially on the nose, compared to the briny smoke you get in Islay Scotch. I believe this may be because Irish peat has different vegetation than much of Scottish peat. The label does not give the mash bill (it just says "peated single malts with soft grain"), but I wouldn't be surprised if there is more than just barley in there. Moderately complex, there are several notes to be discovered. Definitely worth a try.

For my palate, which is simple, it’s got weight, flavors and it’s enjoyable. I now have a beer chaser to wash and that starts the experience all over again. Well worth investigating, especially if you're fond of sweeter whiskeys

I ordered a sample of this whiskey as part of a tasting set from Flaviar, and boy was I pleasantly surprised. This is going in my liquor cabinet, as it is much more palatable than Jack Single Barrel, and costs a bit less.

it is slightly sweet (which I like) so if you like Makers Mark (which is my fallback when I'm out bar hopping as you can usually get it as a top shelf whiskey in most dive bars) you will love this.

Nice nose, hints of vanilla and fall fruits (peaches, pears, apples, unusual for a whiskey, normally I'd expect that with wines) with some cardamom and allspice hints underneath.

It's very, very smooth, especially since it is 90 proof, velvety on the tongue with a long finish, vanilla and slight caramel tones with some fall spice flavor (nutmeg, cardamom, pumpkin spices) which would make it great during the holidays. Nice silky mouthfeel, long finish, only a slight burn on the first sip (it is 90 proof), but that fades quickly. Nice complexity for a whiskey that costs less than $40 a bottle generally, worth the upgrade from Makers for sure, as it is alot more interesting.

Going to source this as a regular in my liquor cabinet, may have to give the Makers to friends to make room LOL.

There wasn't much nose to this which is deceiving. Had great legs in the glass. I didn't get pungent vanilla but I definitely got hints of vanilla and berries with a slight maltiness. The finish was definitely bold and had that alcohol burn that turned into a nice warmth in the chest. Tried it with ginger beer as a mixer and yep, works great!

I'm not the type to review anything but this is necessary. I love coffee. I love whiskey. I'm in freaking love with Jameson Cold Brew. Not only do I get my coffee fix at night when I need the world to just chill, I get my whiskey needs satisfied as well. I've ordered this many times and I'm not even close to sick of it. I enjoy many spirits that are coffee flavored and this is by far my favorite. No risk all reward with this one.

I've never been an Irish Whiskey fan, until my family was on vacation in Ireland. While in Adare, I decided to try this irish whiskey at our hotel bar. I was literally floored by it. The smoothness was completely unexpected and the flavor was like no single malt scotch I'd ever tasted. There is ZERO burn and a subtly sweet finish to Knappogue. I debated about leaving a review, because I've had to ask my local liquor store to carry it, and it seems to vanish quickly. Not To Miss.

A solid Irish Whiskey. It is a steady regular on my shelf. Triple distilled and a bit of that roughness makes it drinkable and satisfying. At $25 it keeps regular sippers satisfied without pushing the pricepoint. Refined it is not, but it is a manly Whiskey

A wonderful, light, flavorful Irish treasure

I really like this whiskey. I'm a big fan of Irish whiskey in general, with it's clean, sometimes slightly sweet, taste. This one's a bit more complex than your average Bushmill's (which is still great), with a bit longer finish but still the wonderful character that makes Irish whiskey. This was my first bottle - it won't be my last.

I tried this whiskey at the Teeling Distillery in February of last year. It was fantastic then as well, but it is fascinating to see how the flavor has evolved over about a year.

A great whiskey, you would not go wrong with purchasing it.

Very smooth, drinkable, and will appeal to the masses. Excellent whiskey and my favorite of the Red Breast family, however, they do still remain overpriced to me. This one, though, is probably the closest match of price to quality.

Smooth with a little bite..

This Irish Whiskey actually was highly recommended by a nice couple from Dublin, IE. So I couldn't turn that down and boy was I pleasantly surprised just how smooth this Whiskey is. Only a little bite on the throat, then a nice warm sensation the rest of the way. I will be adding this to my favorites for sure.

Perhaps my palet is not defined, but I can recognize this may not be the highest quality Irish Whiskey, but it is definitely not the lowest. I think of it as the standard. You won't be disappointed, but you won't be wow'ed. This is an essential part of any bar. Good enoughbfor sipping but you'll likely mix with it

I bought my first bottle of this when Conor fought Khabib awhile ago. Before that I was really into cognac and wasn’t much of a whiskey drinker. Once I had this I stopped drinking cognac. I just like this stuff. It is really smooth, and doesn’t give me hangovers if I have a glass or two like other whiskies. I convince everyone I talk to to try it and every one of them thinks it’s really good too. I notice a lot of “Whiskey fanatics” try to talk down on it but I can’t help but to think it’s because they hate Conor mcgregor and think they too sophisticated to drink something made by a brash celebrity. I’ve tried a bunch of other whiskeys since then because proper twelve isn’t sold everywhere so it would be nice to acquire a taste for something easier to find but nothing comes close to me. I’ve taken suggestions from people that seem to know everything about whiskey and it’s just not as good. Proper Twelve and Buffalo Trace are my favorites as of now.

Ginger & butterscotch

The moment this hits your tongue, it explodes with ginger, followed immediately by a warm, lingering butterscotch flavor. It felt like a quick slap to wake me up, followed by a long hug. I don't think I've enjoyed a whiskey more, at this price point. It will be interesting to see if they ever release a version that is aged significantly longer, because it would probably be sublime.

Best Tasting Whiskey Ever

This Irish whiskey is phenomenal. I've been to the area in Glendalough, Ireland where it is made and it is a magical place. No wonder such exceptional ingredients evolve from such an incredible beautiful and mystical place in the world. It is worth every penny and every glass is strong and sharp to the taste, but the smoothest and easiest to drink whiskey I've ever tasted. Highly, highly recommended.

Powers Three Swallow Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey

My favorite pot still whiskey

I'm a big fan of everything Powers makes, but Three Swallow is my go to. Sure, John's Lane is probably an overall better whiskey (and the awards say as much) but, to me, Three Swallow is perfect for any occasion. Bourbon fans take note - this whiskey is smooth and luscious with a finish that is reminiscent of it's American cousins but more refined and with much less heat. My favorite pot still whiskey, hands down.

A Love/Hate Relationship

Jameson and I have been enjoying and not enjoying each others company since we first met in Savannah, Georgia at a Irish Pub back in 2009. I had been feeling under the weather due to the partaking in liquid festivities the evening before and needed to sit down for a little "hair of the dog" The bartender overheard me complaining about how I felt and came over with what he described as, "the remedy" It was Jameson with just a drop of buttershots with an OJ chaser. Long story short, after that, Jameson came home with me back to Monroe, Mi and as a bartender as well I introduced him to many a friend or passed byer just as the kind bartender in Savanah did, but I changed the name of the shot to "Breakfast at Tiffany's" It has been a success!
