About Barrell Armida Cask Strength Bourbon Whiskey

Founded by Joe Beatrice, Barrell Craft Spirits is about finding exceptional barrels and batches of whiskey from all around the world and bottling them at cask strength. Armida started as an experiment where the team explored the aromas and tastes that are most exciting in bourbon, yet are usually only present in the background. A year later, the experiment became reality. Armida aims to bring spicy and fruity notes into the spotlight via a blend of 3 straight bourbons that were finished in pear brandy, Jamaica rum, and Sicilian amaro casks, resulting in a floral, fruity, spicy, and tropical expression that's both unique and strangely familiar. Limited to some 12,000 bottles, it's bottled at 113.9 proof. The bourbon has received numerous awards, including a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

The nose is sweet and creamy with honey, dulce de leche, pear, blackberry, as well as citrus, herbs, and baking spices. There's a balance of sweetness and tannins on the palate with molasses, sambuca, and olive notes followed by rich date, chipotle, tobacco, walnut, herbs, and a touch of nuttiness that persists through the finish.
