About Bayou Spiced Rum

Dive into the heart of Louisiana with an original American spirit that captures the essence of New Orleans' sophistication and the vibrant soul of Cajun country! Crafted with passion, Bayou Rum starts its journey in the fertile Mississippi Delta, where sugarcane molasses from the oldest American sugar mill infuse each bottle with history and tradition. Imagine the aromatic spices of Louisianan Creole baking — three styles of natural vanilla, warm cinnamon, and luscious sweet figs — steeping for up to 30 days to gift Bayou Spiced Rum its intense flavor and captivating amber hue. On the palate, it's a festival of tastes. A harmonious mix of maple, banana, allspice, clove, vanilla, and a dash of pepper create a symphony of flavor, leading to a complex finish adorned with Creole baking spices. The expression was crowned as the Best Spiced Rum in the World in 2023 by the Beverage Testing Institute, bagging a Gold Medal from The Fifty Best.

About Rum

Rum history allegedly started in the Carribiens in the 17th century when they started to ferment and distill molasses, a byproduct of sugar production. Most of the Rum is aged in oak or ex-wine casks, giving its color and flavor.

We distinguish between 4 different Rum categories, where white or unaged rum is mainly used in cocktails, while dark, spiced, and añejo (aged) rum are mostly enjoyed neat.
