About Bisquit & Dubouché

Founded over 2 centuries ago by Alexander Bisquit and Adrien Dubouché, Bisquit & Dubouché crafts authentic, ultra-premium Cognac in the eponymous region of France. The cognac house first opened its doors in 1819 in Château de Lignères near the Charente River, Bisquit seeking to pour his visionary ideas into a new cognac that would be exported around the globe. He possessed a deep understanding of the cognac creation process, from choosing the finest grapes and wood to letting time work its magic. He was joined by his son-in-law Dubouché, an artist with a keen eye for detail.

Now owned by the Campari Group, Bisquit & Dubouché follows the path laid out by its founders, channeling their entrepreneurial spirit. Instead of relying on fixed parameters during the production process, the team lets intuition lead the way, dictated by aromas and flavors. This plays a crucial part in all 4 of the phases, starting with the finest vines in the Cognac region, continuing through distillation and aging, until the eaux-de-vie are finally blended into harmonious, masterfully-crafted cognac.

About Cognac

Cognac is a type of brandy produced in the Cognac region of France.
Because the French take it very seriously, there are numerous rules cognac makers have to follow not to fall “short” into the brandy category.

The white wine from the specific grapes (Ugni blanc) has to be doubly distilled in a copper pot still before being aged for at least two years in oak casks from which the wood can only come from two specific forests in France (Limousin or Tronçais).

Depending on the age, there are three types of cognac, the youngest V.S. (Very Special), V.S.O.P. (Very Superior Old Pale), and the X.O. (Extra Old)
