About Casa Maestri MFM Reposado Tequila

Located in the heart of Jalisco, Mexico, Destiladora Del Valle de Tequila ― also known as Casa Maestri ― is a family business that was founded in 2008 by Michael and Celia Maestri. The most awarded tequila distillery in Mexico quickly became one of Mexico's largest exporters of tequila as well, crafting spirits using traditional methods from the finest agaves that grow in the highlands and lowlands of Jalisco. Casa Maestri MFM Reposado Tequila is crafted with 100% blue Weber agaves that are painstakingly roasted in stone ovens and ground slowly, extracting the sweetest agave flavors. After fermentation, the juice is distilled twice. Then, the tequila spends up to 8 months in American whiskey casks, mostly from Jack Daniel's, imparting the spirit with a layer of gentle sweetness and complexity.

About Tequila

Although tequila has developed a bad reputation, there's more to the spirit than just shots on a Saturday night.

This traditional Mexican drink origins in the state of Jalisco when according to a local legend, lightning struck an agave cactus before the Nahua tribe drank its warm nectar. Behold, tequila.

Legally, tequila has to be made of 51% of Blue agave around the Jalisco region in Mexico. There are different types of tequila according to age - from the youngest representatives, blanco, reposado, and añejo, to the oldest extra añejo.
