About Catedral de Mi Padre Mezcal Ensamble (Espadin + Mexicano)

Catedral De Mi Padre launched in 2022 with 6 different mezcals: 4 single varietal expressions and 2 ensemble mezcals, each delivering a true farm-to-bottle experience. It's a long-coming collaboration of father-daughter duo Jeff & Sydney Block and 6 maestros mezcaleros from Oaxaca, Mexico. The Blocks lived in Oaxaca for 8 years, slowly falling in love with both mezcal and the way the famous Mexican spirit connects religion, culture, and family. Catedral de mi Padre Mezcal Ensemble (Espadin + Mexicano) is lovingly crafted by Maestro Mezcalero Tio Rene, who draws from 3 generations of family mezcaleros. Initially helping his father, Tio René now makes some of the finest terroir mezcal in Mexico. Double-distilled in copper pots and produced using artisanal methods, this 94-proof mezcal won a Gold Medal at the Las Vegas Spirits Awards in 2022.

About Mezcal

Mezcal is a distilled spirit made from roasted agave plants between two days and two weeks, which gives it a distinct smokey flavor.
What scotch is for whisk(e)y, mezcal is for tequila.

It can be made from different types of agave in different parts of Mexico, but most of it (60%) comes from the state of Oaxaca. Mezcal offers a large diversity of flavor profiles and ranges between 40 and 55% ABV.
