Chareau Aloe Liqueur is made with aloe vera, cucumber, eau-de-vie, lemon peel, muskmelon, spearmint, sugar and water. The ingredients are grown locally, and each of them is found naturally in California. The company sources organic whenever possible, and partners directly with the family farmers. The eau-de-vie or water of life is unaged brandy, which is made from the grapes from the same vineyards where grapes for California’s award-winning wine portfolio are cultivated. The water used in the process comes from the Yosemite area, which is home to some of the best tasting natural spring water you can find.
Chareau Aloe Liqueur is a delicious liqueur made by infusing the brandy base with cucumber, spearmint, lemon peel, and muskmelon, before fresh aloe juice is added. Every ingredient was carefully selected: the cucumber adds a sophisticated vegetal quality, while the muskmelon brings a natural sweetness. The lemon peel adds balance and the spearmint mellows the bite of the unaged eau-de-vie distillate. The result is a refreshing spirit that can be enjoyed both straight and mixed in a cocktail. This craft distilled liqueur is a wonderful expression of California agriculture in a bottle.

About Chareau
Chareau is a uniquely Californian aloe liqueur that was inspired by the bountiful agriculture and natural beauty of its birthplace. Its creator Kurt Charron found his muse in the aloe vera plant, and wanted to delicately compliment its naturally soft and slightly bitter profile. This emerald succulent thrives on California’s rich soil, its fresh water springs, and in the year round temperate climate. The Aloe Vera plant looks as though it belongs to the agave or cactus family, but is in fact more closely related to lilies. The name Chareau was chosen to honor the founder’s great-grandparents Arthur Emile Charron and Florence Marie Favreau, farmers who moved their family to California, where the Charrons have lived ever since.
This typical aperitif has its origins in 13th century Italy where it was used for medicinal purposes. The liqueur is produced worldwide and can have all sorts of flavor profiles, from fruit, spices, nuts, and even cream, and has a low proof of 15 to 30% ABV.
Liqueur can be enjoyed in many different fashions, from drinking neat, in cocktails, served with coffee, or even used for cooking.
The subtly vegetal nose is followed by a well-balanced palate with notes of cucumber, aloe vera, melon and spearmint. The finish is vegetal, with notes of melon and mint.
