About Don Ramon Platinium Añejo Cristalino Tequila

Popular in Mexico, Casa Don Ramon crafts premium and ultra-premium tequila from 100% blue Weber agaves, grown in Los Altos de Jalisco, Mexico. It's in that region that the agaves thrive in the micro-climate and mineral-rich soil, slowly maturing over the course of a decade. Once they are riped, they are harvested by the jimadores, the hearts ready to be double-distilled into the famous Mexican spirit. Don Ramon Platinium Anejo Tequila is a Cristalino tequila ― this means that the aged expression gets charcoal-filtered to remove the color and imperfections, resulting in a crystal-clear spirit with all the complexity found in mature tequila. It spends between 12 and 18 months in American and French oak casks. Proprietary finishing methods are employed in order for the spirit to reach the ultimate smoothness and robust taste profile.

The clear tequila with straw highlights opens with a balance of wood and spice aromas. The palate is rich, sweet, and complex with nutty, vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon, and cooked agave notes with just a hint of citrus. The finish is equally complex with hints of oak.
