About El Mayor Añejo Cristalino Tequila

El Mayor Añejo Cristalino Tequila starts with exceptional agaves that grow in the mineral-rich soil of the volcanic hills of Jalisco, Mexico. Rich in sugar, the agaves are harvested once they are mature, at more than 7 years of age. After the agave hearts are harvested, they are slowly cooked in a stainless steel oven, milled, and pressed, releasing the juices. Then, the juice is combined with a family yeast strain and left to ferment for several days before being double distilled in copper-lined pots. This expression then spends at least 12 months in American white oak casks. Finally, the tequila is filtered through fine charcoal, removing the color, but preserving the complexity of an aged spirit.
