Hamilton Jamaican Pot Still Blonde Rum is distilled at the Worthy Park Estate in Jamaica, where sugarcane has been the main crop since 1670. The sugarcane is processed in their famously efficient sugar mill, turning it into sugar and molasses. After Hamilton founder Ed Hamilton bottled the Jamaican Gold and Black rums, he filled some of the same base rum into empty St Lucian Pot Still Rum barrels, letting the spirit mature for 18 months at the Five & 20 Spirits distillery in Westfield, NY. Then, he added 12% of another rum from Worthy Park, a 1-year-old light rum that was aged in Jamaica, letting the blend marry for another 6 months. Finally, the rum was brought to 90 proof with filtered NY well water and bottled without coloring or added sugar.

About Rum
Rum history allegedly started in the Carribiens in the 17th century when they started to ferment and distill molasses, a byproduct of sugar production. Most of the Rum is aged in oak or ex-wine casks, giving its color and flavor.
We distinguish between 4 different Rum categories, where white or unaged rum is mainly used in cocktails, while dark, spiced, and añejo (aged) rum are mostly enjoyed neat.
The nose is rich, funky, and tropical with ripe fruit and pineapple aromas. The palate is equally tropical and funky with banana, molasses, caramel, and hints of grassy notes.
