About Hamilton West Indies 1670 Blend Rum

Hamilton Rum is the brainchild of sailor, rum aficionado, author, and importer Ed Hamilton, known as the "Minister of Rum". As a true scholar and ambassador of rum, Hamilton has amassed a deep knowledge of the famous spirit, channeling his expertise into the brand that is based on quality, accessibility, and transparency. This means that all the rums in the growing range contain no additives and are bottled without filtration, and Hamilton West Indies 1670 Blend Rum is no exception. Based on their Navy Strength Rum, it's a blend of 2 Caribbean rums and a Jamaican rum from Worthy Park Estate. Rich, fruity, spicy, oaky, funky, and tropical, the expression is bottled at 84 proof.

About Rum

Rum history allegedly started in the Carribiens in the 17th century when they started to ferment and distill molasses, a byproduct of sugar production. Most of the Rum is aged in oak or ex-wine casks, giving its color and flavor.

We distinguish between 4 different Rum categories, where white or unaged rum is mainly used in cocktails, while dark, spiced, and añejo (aged) rum are mostly enjoyed neat.
