About Heaven Hill Heritage Collection 20 Year Old Whiskey

Each spring, the Heaven Hill distillery from Kentucky treats us to a highly limited series, showcasing the breadth of the distillery by releasing some of the oldest inventory they possess. In 2023, the distillery released 110 barrels of corn whiskey that were produced in October of 2002 and aged for 20 years in used barrels on the third floor of one of the rickhouses in the distillery’s campus in Louisville. As part of the Heritage Collection that is showcasing the dedication, patience, and exquisite ultra-aging techniques the distillery is known for, this ultra-aged corn whiskey is a true testament to their craft. Made from a mashbill of 80% corn, 12% malted rye, and 8% rye, and bottled non-chill filtered at 57.5% ABV. This is a fabulously mellow whiskey with nicely balanced sweet notes and a lingering finish that is very easy to drink despite the powerful ABV.

About Heaven Hill

Heaven Hill distillery was founded in 1935, immediately after Prohibition ended in the United States in 1933, after a group of investors decided to be ready for the rebounding market. The investors including the famous Joseph L. Beam. Heaven Hill is located on a massive estate boasting 22 multi-story rick-houses across hundreds of acres of land. Now known as the "Heaven Hill Bernheim Distillery" they have the second-largest inventory of Bourbon Whiskey in the world. It is also the only remaining family-owned distillery in Kentucky.

About American Whiskey

There are two main representatives of the American whiskey family, bourbon, and rye, but some other spirits don't fall into those two strictly regulated categories.

There's equally strictly regulated American single malt, made from 100% malted barley, Tennessee whiskey, essentially bourbon filtered through maple charcoal and aged in new charred oak barrels.

And then there's moonshine, a high proof (150- 170 proof) distilled spirit mainly made out of corn which gained popularity during the prohibition.

Check out our impressive selection of American single malts, or find your new favorite in our rich whisk(e)y selection, and get familiarized with what the world has to offer.

This is a deep gold whiskey, courtesy of the aging process. It is very rich on the nose with notes of fruits, toasted corn, and oak spices. The taste is superbly mellow, with notes of aged oak, walnuts, cinnamon, and apple. The finish is long with oak spices and hues of corn sweetness.
