About Jaywalk Straight Rye Whiskey

Ever wondered what it feels like to sip on the spirit of New York? Jaywalk Straight Rye Whiskey is bold, unapologetic, and packed with a punch of flavor that dances on your palate. This rye is a celebration of history, detail, and character. Distilled with care in New York, Jaywalk draws its unique taste from a mix of Horton Heirloom Rye and their exclusive organic Field Race Rye, all grown in the lush Finger Lakes region. It’s a delicate blend of spirits aged not one, not two, but up to eight years, boasting a robust 92-proof that's ready to stir things up. With tasting notes that rebel against the ordinary—think dark, caramelized sugars flirting with floral notes, and a tropical fiesta of pineapple and mango, ending with a sweet whisper of apricot—Jaywalk is a revelation in every sip. Whether you're a rye aficionado or new to the game, prepare for an experience that's anything but typical.

About Rye

As American as the bald eagle, rye whiskey was first brewed in the American Northeast in the 1600s. Even George Washington distilled it after leaving the Oval Office, so there’s no way of denying its origin.
It’s distinguished from bourbon for its original and unique spicy notes.

By law, rye whiskey must be made from at least 51% rye grain, aged in new and charred oak barrels for at least two years, and bottled at no more than 62,5% ABV.

Look for dark sugar, caramel, and floral aromas, beside the usual rye spice in this expression. Honey and apricot are on the nose. Tropical fruit is on the palate with pineapple and mango.
