Old Whiskey River 6 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the result of master distillers utilizing the best ingredients to produce an exceptional bourbon. Bottled at 86 Proof and aged for six years in new oak barrels, this versatile whiskey will deliver a smooth, sweet and mellow taste.

This corn, barley, and rye-based small-batch bourbon composed of grains grown within 100 miles of the distillery on family-owned farms is inspired by the 1978 Willie Nelson song of the same name. It comes complete with a guitar pick on the neck of its bottle, but it's no gimmick—reviews suggest that the whisky inside is pretty decent.

Tasting Notes

The nose starts with a caramel-like sweetness at the beginning, followed by oak and dried apricot notes. A bit of peanut flavor comes through as well, with hints of spice more akin to cinnamon than chili pepper—which gives way to bitter dark chocolate notes in which one can detect a slight metallic edge. The palate offers a mix of caramel, citrus peels, spice, oak, and vanilla with just a hint of peanuts. For the finish expect a long oaky fade with bits of caramel, vanilla, and spice.
