About Rabbit Hole Boxergrail Straight Rye Whiskey

Rabbit Hole Distilling, founded by Kaveh Zamanian, produces a beautiful range of award-winning spirits. While their bespoke 24 ft Vendome Copper & Brass still, is being custom-built only a few blocks from their distillery, their Bourbon and Rye whiskeys are 100% Kentucky made, crafted to create a unique drinking experience.

They produced their first barrel from their very own mix of carefully selected grains, which are mashed and fermented at ideal temperatures to preserve certain precise flavors and aromas, before being distilled without compromise. Their spirits are matured in barrels crafted by Kelvin Cooperage, which has their roots in Scotland.

Aged in Kentucky Rye Char #3, wood-fired, Kelvin Cooperage barrels this is a bold 95% Rye Whiskey with a bright caramel amber color and thick legs that linger. You can brown sugar notes on the nose with a spice that jumps on the tongue. Great with a splash of water, but breathtaking in classic cocktails like an Old Fashioned. This bold rye earned 92 points from Beverage Tasting Institute in 2016, and a Gold medal at the New York Spirits Competition in 2017.

About Rye

As American as the bald eagle, rye whiskey was first brewed in the American Northeast in the 1600s. Even George Washington distilled it after leaving the Oval Office, so there’s no way of denying its origin.
It’s distinguished from bourbon for its original and unique spicy notes.

By law, rye whiskey must be made from at least 51% rye grain, aged in new and charred oak barrels for at least two years, and bottled at no more than 62,5% ABV.
