About Rampur
Rampur Indian single malt whisky hails from the foothills of the Himalayas, where the large temperature fluctuation with the Indian summer provides favorable conditions for whisky maturation. Handcrafted from barley to bottle, Rampur was built upon 75 years of distilling tradition and expertise.
Radico Khaitan is a legend of the Indian spirits industry. Established in 1943, the distillery was once known as the Rampur Distillery. "We are adding a new step to this wonderful journey with the jewels of Rampur Indian Single Malt," says Dr. Lalit Khaitan, chairman and managing director. Rampur has a rich heritage, tradition, and culture, providing ample inspiration to the whisky creators. They have several expressions in their lineup that include the Double Cask, Select, Asava, and PX Sherry.
When thinking about whiskey, Scotland, Ireland, and the USA would be the first countries that would pop to mind, but around 30 whiskey nations are closing the gap with the leading nations in whisky production.
In addition to Japan, where one of the best types of whiskey is produced, other whiskey-producing countries include Canada, Taiwan, India, France, and Switzerland.
On the nose, Rampur Double Cask Indian Single Malt Whisky really impresses with notes of tropical fruits, malt, and oak. The palate is inviting and offers flavors of sweet fruits, rich sherry, vanilla, and chocolate, culminating in a long finish with fruity notes.
