About Samuel Gelston's Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey (700mL)

Samuel Gelston's Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey is a spirit steeped in history and flavor. Founded in Belfast in 1830 by the visionary Samuel Gelston, this whiskey brand thrived and evolved under the passionate stewardship of Harry Neill, who expanded the business after striking gold in the Australian Gold Rush. Today, five generations later, the Neill family continues to blend and nurture the finest whiskeys with love and dedication. Crafted from a distinctive mix of malted and unmalted barley, distilled in traditional copper pot stills, Samuel Gelston's Irish Single Pot Still Whiskey offers a truly unique and full-bodied experience. With a golden hue, this whiskey tantalizes the senses with notes of green flora, zesty lemon-drizzle cake, and cooked citrus on the nose. The palate is treated to a symphony of walnut, candied pecan, cacao nibs, and cereal, leading to a delightful finish of chocolate orange and sweet breakfast porridge. The whiskey won the coveted Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2022 and Gold in 2021.

About Irish Whiskey

Contrary to popular belief that Scots invented whisk(e)y, Irish whiskey was mentioned almost a century before its Scottish brother.

Its origin comes from the perfume distilling monks who decided to tweak the recipe a bit, creating Irish whiskey.

Irish whiskey doesn’t have a lot of rules and regulations to be considered “pure” and can be made with various grains and processes, as long as it is aged for at least three years in wooden casks and has a max ABV of 94.8%.

The nose is bright with green aromas, citrus, and lemon cake aromas. Look for walnut, pecans, dark chocolate, and cereal on the gently sweet palate that leads to a sweet finish with orange, chocolate, and porridge notes.
