About Six Saints
Six Saints Rum is produced in Grenada a small island in the western Caribbean. The island nation is divided into six parishes, each one named after a Catholic Saint which serves as the inspiration for the name: Six Saints Rum.
The devout islanders of Grenada have been quietly hand crafting rum for over two centuries. This natural rum is distilled traditionally the way it has always been. This Six Saints spirit is a pure, West Indian style Rum made from sugarcane, and aged in ex-Bourbon barrels.
Rum history allegedly started in the Carribiens in the 17th century when they started to ferment and distill molasses, a byproduct of sugar production. Most of the Rum is aged in oak or ex-wine casks, giving its color and flavor.
We distinguish between 4 different Rum categories, where white or unaged rum is mainly used in cocktails, while dark, spiced, and añejo (aged) rum are mostly enjoyed neat.
Vanilla notes with cinnamon and pineapple on the nose. The palate is luscious with honeyed notes, tropical fruits, baking spice and dried fruit. The finish is subtle and sweet with a hint of vanilla and smoked nutmeg.
