The official whiskey of the Walking Dead, Sexton Irish single malt whiskey is made in the heart of the North Coast of Ireland. Produced by Proximo Spirits, this single malt is crafted from 100% malted barley mash and triple distilled through copper pots. The spirit is aged for four years in first, second, and third fill Oloroso sherry butts.
The whiskey is blended under the watchful eye of Master Blender Alex Thomas, one of the few women in the whiskey industry with over 13 years of experience under her belt. Thomas says "We're using classic Irish single malt techniques to craft The Sexton, with only three ingredients of 100% malted barley, yeast, and water from Ireland. But what makes us truly special is our maturation process. We're purposely aging our whiskey for four years in carefully selected casks to create a fresh, new-style single malt which is bold in personality yet extremely approachable.” The Sexton matures in these European oak casks that were toasted to a medium-high char and seasoned with sherry.

About Irish Whiskey

Contrary to popular belief that Scots invented whisk(e)y, Irish whiskey was mentioned almost a century before its Scottish brother.

Its origin comes from the perfume distilling monks who decided to tweak the recipe a bit, creating Irish whiskey.

Irish whiskey doesn’t have a lot of rules and regulations to be considered “pure” and can be made with various grains and processes, as long as it is aged for at least three years in wooden casks and has a max ABV of 94.8%.
