About Traverse City Whiskey Co. Verse Gin

The men behind Traverse City Whiskey Co. are Chris Frederickson, Jared Rapp, and Moti Goldring—great friends and former corporate rats—who founded the distillery in 2012 to escape the rat race and pursue more satisfying endeavors, such as running a successful Michigan distillery together. The idea for the company was inspired by Chris’s discovery of his grandfather’s collection of distilling patents among a pile of old items, which turned out to be one valuable find. Bottled at 47.5 % ABV, Traverse City Whiskey Co. Verse Gin is of an experimental nature, distilled with wild botanicals and dutifully rested in signature bourbon barrels, giving this free spirit sweet and light accents. Cinnamon and lavender take the leading role on the palate stage, with notes of oak, cedar, and cherry forest, redolent of woods in Michigan’s ‘Up north.’

About Traverse City Whiskey Co.

Three former corporate types and whiskey buffs, Chris, Jared, and Moti, decided to ditch the 9-to-5 grind and start making tasty spirits that people would genuinely appreciate. They founded their distillery in Traverse City, Michigan, more than a decade ago. While rummaging through his family’s farm storage, Chris stumbled upon a set of old distilling patents from the Prohibition era. These patents were not only fascinating but also added an extra touch of nostalgia and inspiration to their distilling craft.

About Gin

According to Winston Churchill, "The gin and tonic has saved more Englishmen's lives and minds than all the doctors in the Empire," referring to the British officers using it to treat malaria in India.

Initially made for medicinal purposes, gin gets most of its flavor from the juniper berries added after the distillation process. It sure has come a long way from the Middle Ages, with the introduction of new botanicals, fruits, and spices, bringing it closer to people of all flavor varieties.
